It is the result of an ongoing collaboration between students from the Athens School of Fine Art and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Munich. Developed from shared research, workshops and discussions, this filmic experiment captures the mood of the present moment as experienced and reflected by it’s authors. Scenarios range from a reworking of Lucian’s “Death Dialogues”, to explorations of the antagonistic architecture of student housing, childhood nightmares, Nietzsche’s “Genealogy of Morals”, fear and desire, escapism, the changing symbolism of the “Zombie” and the image of “Europe” to an interview with the 95 year old Erich Haas, who participated in the history of gender politics in post-war Germany and Greece. The film is accompanied by a shared publication and a survey of perceptions of time inspired by the writings of Lazzarato, Berardi, Deleuze and Guattari. With Jonas Beutlhauser, Elena Carr, Kyrill Constantinides, Kalliopi Chalouva, Johannes Fedisch, Philipp Gufler, Johanna Gonschorek, Veronika Götz, Panagiotis Gritzos, Tanja Hamester, Leo Heinik, Alina Hofmeier, Evi Kalogiropoulou, Ylena Katkova, Michael Karmann, Byron Kalomamas, Liane Klingler, Lefteris Krysalis, Aimilia Liontou, Lorenz Mayr, Marius Meusch, Lisa Nase, Giorgos Nikas, Elena Papastergiou, Marios Pavlou, Giorgos Palamaris, Mako Sangmongkhon, Angela Stiegler, Melina Toelle, Vasileia Dereli, Myrto Vratsanou, Nefeli Voutyra, Athina Veloudou, Julia Walk, Sarah Weber. Having started as a theatre writer and video artist – that brought him invitations to Paris, Denmark, Brasilia, USA and others -- he was later co-founder of b_books, a publishing initiative, book-shop, film production and artist’s-collective in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Together with Katja Diefenbach he was asked to organize the Fassbinder-Birthday celebration in Volksbühne Berlin. All his endeauvours as translator, theorist, and university-teacher revolve around the subject of film. Right now he prepares his third feature, a film about the 70ies pop-legend Ricky Shayne, working title „mutwillig Shayne” (willfully, Dhayne) Saturday 1 NOV 15:00 - 21:00 HOW TO PROJECT AND SPELL | Exhibition and Film Screening Galerie Kullukcu & Gregorian, Schillerstraße 23, Munich Monday 3 NOV 19:00 JOHANNES PAUL RAETHER | Seminar, classroom Dillemuth, ADBK johannespaulraether.net |
